Here is a synopsis of the story...

When thirteen-year-old Grace is killed in a freak road accident, she expects an ambulance, a hospital bed, maybe even a miraculous recovery. Instead, she wakes up outside her body—alive, but dead—trapped as a ghost in a world that suddenly doesn’t see or hear her.

Struggling to comprehend her new reality, Grace stumbles into the hospital mortuary where she meets Mr. Gordon, a cantankerous old ghost who offers her survival tips: how to walk through walls, perch on chairs without falling through, and even move objects with her mind. But Gordon insists she should stop clinging to her old life and cross into the light. Grace refuses. Her little brother Riley still needs her, and she isn’t about to vanish into nothingness.

Determined to stay, Grace learns that not all spirits are kind. Some are dangerous, predatory, and eager to claim the vulnerable for themselves. On the run from a sinister stalker-ghost, she finds unlikely refuge at an abandoned school with Caitlin, a spirited teen ghost who died years before. Together, the girls face the haunting truth of what it means to be “stuck.”

When a pair of YouTube-famous ghosthunters arrive to investigate the school’s supernatural activity, Grace realises she might finally have a way to reach the living—and maybe her family. But exposing herself could mean attracting the very evil that hunts her. Now Grace must decide: cling to the world she’s lost, or risk everything for a second chance at peace.

Blending the humour and heart of Heartstopper with the chilling suspense of Lockwood & Co., Ghosthunters Anonymous is a middle-grade/YA supernatural adventure about friendship, grief, and the courage to face the unknown.
